We are always on the look out for new ideas and talent. If you are a new author and wish to see your work in print, we offer two routes to publication:
If we are interested in publishing your book, we will arrange for you to meet us to discuss the marketing plan and contract. Once we agree to go ahead with the book, it will take between 3 and 6 months to prepare the book for printing and organise relevant publicity.
If you think this option is for you, please contact us directly to find out how to submit your work.
We give professional support to all titles accepted on the programme, from initial guidance on the first draft through to publicity and marketing of the final book. Our scheme is very competitive and we always work closely with our authors, respecting the time and effort that has been put into their idea.
1. Pre-order Option
- Before your book is published, a minimum number of pre-orders is required
(the number of pre-orders is agreed in advance).
- Both you and Candy Jar will work to acquire those pre-orders through
word of mouth and publicity.
- With the minimum number of pre-orders in place, printing begins, orders
are dispatched and you have your new book!
- Further publicity and marketing is implemented to attract further sales.
2. Pre-pay Option
- If you are desperate to see your words in print and can't wait for pre-orders
to come in, then this option is for you. You pay up front for the books
and then have the books to sell.
- Together, we agree how many books to print based on your budget and
potential sales.
- Candy Jar will work alongside you to sell as many books as possible.
You get to keep the profit of each book you sell!
Email or post us the following:
- A covering letter with your contact details and preferred publishing
option
- A one-page synopsis
- A maximum of three chapters
Once received, we will then review your work and decide whether or not to take the idea forward. If successful, we will invite you in for a no-obligation meeting to discuss the possible next step.
Remember, this is not vanity publishing. We will only publish material that we think is of a good enough standard, which fits in with the ethos of Candy Jar and has a likelihood of selling a minimum of 100 copies.
Our current titles can be purchased from Amazon, Play.com and our Candy Jar Store. You can also order direct from your local bookshop by quoting the ISBN number.
