Meet the team
Established in 2010 by Company Directors Shaun Russell and Justin Chaloner, Candy Jar Films is a growing video production company with ambitious plans for the future. Both Shaun and Justin work closely together on productions, taking on additional team members as and when required.

Justin Chaloner (Camera Operator, Editor) previously worked in the education and charity sectors before pursuing a career in the media. “Before helping set up Candy Jar I had various roles including lecturer, fundraiser, youth worker and project manager. This gave me a valuable and unique insight into the challenges and pressures faced by those working in these sectors. Retraining as a freelance cameraman and editor, I was able to draw on my experiences as I worked on productions related to these fields. I now have a wealth of experience working on video productions for small and medium companies as well as larger organisations.”

Shaun Russell (Video Director, Producer) has a background in broadcasting, marketing and journalism. “I began my TV career at the age of fifteen on the HTV saturday morning children’s show, Get Fresh. I then went on to work for Grundy, The Children’s Channel, Television International, GMTV, Channel 5, CITV, Einstein Entertainment and On Screen Productions. As a freelance on-screen journalist I worked for Channel One Bristol and Manchester Live. I was also deputy editor of Welsh Business – the official magazine of The Cardiff Chamber of Commerce.”

Freelancers

Bryn Lloyd started his experience in video production from an early age. “From the humble beginnings of my very first camera, I immediately grew fond of the art of film. I took an active interest in media throughout my education and, with my similarly keen interest in music, was awarded the Gold Arts Award from London’s Trinity College. I continued this enthusiasm through to the University of Glamorgan, where I gained a First Class degree in Film Studies. Since then, I have worked in post-production for Gorilla, as well as various freelance writing projects.”
